Roasted banana

Do you have some bananas that are starting to turn black? Well here is a very simple and delicious recipe you can use to prevent bananas that are turning from being thrown away...and all you need is a banana!

Simple put the banana in an oven at 180 degrees C and wait until it turns black...that's it!

 

Serving suggestions:

 

flambe (add alcohol to a hot pan to create a burst of flames) either rum, brandy or any alcohol of choice (please be careful!), possibly add a touch of cream (no longer vegan) to make a simple sauce. Once you take the banana out of the oven, carefully slice from top to bottom and pour over your sauce.

Add toasted nuts e.g. walnuts, almonds, cashews etc.

and other pieces of fruit for extra colour and nutritional value e.g. strawberries, mango or kiwi, or simply fine grate some orange or lime zest over the top.

Whip up some cream, add some vanilla abd icing sugar (carefully) to make a simple chantilly cream. (Obviously this then is no longer vegan)

Add mint for some freshness.

Make a simple chocolate sauce by adding equal amounts of water, chocolate and sugar to a pan and bring to the boil, whisk cool and pour over the top

To finish, dust with icing sugar.
