Welcome to The Real Junk Food Project

Born in Feb 13', grown from an idea and witnessing first hand the devastation that waste food had on our environment, and the impact it has globally on our societies and finances. We aim to rid the world of waste food produce through a more sustainable approach that will feed those that are food insecure as well as the general public for free.

We started with intercepting waste food produce from local, reliable sources in Melbourne, Aus. With this, we cooked the produce for free to create healthy, nutritious meals and then distributed them to everyone whom required them. We fed the homeless, those that are food insecure, students, low income families, the elderly and many more, there was no prejudice to what we did.

We are now heading back to Leeds, UK, where we hope to set-up base. We hope to have our first 'pay-as-you-feel' cafe open before the end of the year along with starting our urban garden projects and animal sanctuary. Further into the new year we hope to have our first raw food kitchen established. All the projects will only use waste food kindly donated to us along with locally grown, organic produce.

Freeze chillis and peppers (capsicums) so that they never go off - you can slice and cook them straight from frozen too
